In recognition of the concepts he introduced into the field of biologically active peptides, Dr. Kastin has been made an honorary member of 9 foreign medical societies, has received 2 honorary professorships and 3 honorary doctorates (the last one from Uppsala University), and has won several national and international awards. Author of more than 900 papers cited more than 34,500 times (H index 87), he has been listed among the 100 researchers most cited in the scientific literature. He is president of The International Neuropeptide Society/Society for Biologically Active Peptides and was founding Editor-in-Chief of the international journal Peptides for 35 years.

Dr. Mariam Matar is a visionary and a change-maker in the field of health-care and the emerging sciences of genetics and molecular biology.
Multi-award winning International Leader, and Mentor, she is recently recognised as 'Pioneering Arab Woman in healthcare innovation 2019' by 21st Pioneer Leadership Award in Healthcare, Kuwait.
She is leading the scientific and healthcare community of the Arab region through a fundamental progressive shift in thinking about genetics and preparing the stakeholders to embrace the science of genetics, technology and tools available for empowering the Arab nations.
As the Founder and Chairperson of UAE Genetic Diseases Association, her grass root community research on the most common genetic disorders in UAE and recommendations have resulted in five legislations for pre-marital screening, newborn screening, preventive genetic testing in the UAE. Since then she has founded 14 nonprofit organisations and mentored thousands of community workers and volunteers.
Dr. Matar is instrumental in leading a core team of researchers and voluntary genetics and molecular biology scientists who are responsible for gene mapping in the United Arab Emirates. Her work has placed the UAE on the global map of genetic research and innovation. A global leader, she works with leading research and academic centers as an advisor and is on the panel of the Global Commission to End the Diagnostic Odyssey for Children with a Rare Disease.
Her strategic work in Government is still used as the foundation of several of the UAE's national policies.
Dr. Matar was the first woman Director General in Dubai Government, heading the Community Development Authority, UAE which undertakes to formulate social policies and deliver social services that are in line with and contribute to the achievement of the social development objectives of Dubai Strategic Plan 2007 – 2015, launched by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum on February 3rd, 2007. In 2005, Dr. Matar was the leader of the executive team that set up social development strategies for the Dubai Strategic Plan.
She is also the first Emirati woman undersecretary in the Dubai Government with the Minister of Health.
A believer in serving through leadership, she is on a personal mission to inspire young leaders, especially women leaders to reach their fullest potential.
Recognized as the most powerful scientist in the UAE since 2014, she is also recognized among the top 20 Arab scientists with the biggest contribution to humanity by the British Scientific Community in 2016. She has received over 50 global and regional awards for her outstanding achievements.

Andrew V. Schally, Ph.D., M.D.h.c., received his training in England, Canada, Sweden, and USA. In the years 1954-1977 he worked in the field of neuroendocrinology. Dr. Schally’s group isolated and elucidated the structure of hypothalamic LHRH. Dr. Schally was awarded the Nobel Prize in Medicine in 1977 for his work on hypothalamic peptides. Dr. Schally switched then to cancer research. He is a world leader in research on hormone-related cancers and treatment of prostate and other cancers. Various classes of anticancer peptides were developed in his laboratory. Dr. Schally is the Professor of Pathology and Medicine at the University of Miami School of Medicine, Chief of the Endocrine, Polypeptide Cancer Institute at the VA Medical Center, Miami, Florida and Distinguished Medical Research Scientist. He has more than 2500 publications to his credit.

From 1992 to 1996 she worked at the pharmaceutical company Farmigea S.p.A, Research and Development Division, then she obtained her PhD in Medicinal Chemistry, in 1999. Assistant Professor, from 2000 to 2011, she now works as associate professor of medicinal chemistry at the Department of Pharmacy, University of Pisa, Italy. She is the author of more than 140 publications in the fields of medicinal chemistry, including research articles in leading international journals, national and international patents, chapters in books, published by major presses, and a number of oral and poster communications at national and international congresses. On the basis of her research, many students have been awarded their master and Ph.D degrees in medicinal chemistry. She serves as reviewer of papers for publishers like the American Chemical Society Publication, Elsevier Ltd, Wiley Interscience, and RSC Journals, as well as reviewer of research proposals for agencies like the Italian and European Ministries of Education and Research.

He has published widely on the melatonergic pathway and mitochondrial function. He was the European Life Science Awards’ Winner of Most Innovative New Product 2012 for the “synthetic trachea”. Prof Seifalian won the Nanosmat Prize in 2013 and in 2016 he received the Distinguished Research Award in recognition of his outstanding work in regenerative medicine from Heals Healthy Life Extension Society. His achievements include the development of the world's first synthetic trachea, lacrimal drainage conduit, and vascular bypass graft using nanocomposite materials, bioactive molecules and stem cell technology. Dr. Jiwei Hu is currently a Chair Professor at Guizhou Provincial Key Laboratory for Information Systems of Mountainous Areas and Protection of Ecological Environment as well as at Cultivation Base of Guizhou National Key Laboratory of Mountainous Karst Eco-environment, Guizhou Normal University. He obtained B.S. in chemical engineering from Zhejiang Institute of Technology in 1984, M.S. in organic chemistry from University of Jyväskylä in 1994, Licentiate in environmental chemistry from Stockholm University in 1996, and Ph.D. in applied chemistry from University of Jyväskylä in 1999. He carried out his research at College of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering, Peking University, as a Post-Doctoral Fellow from 2002 to 2005. He received in 2018 the International Association of Advanced Materials (IAAM) medal in Sweden and the Science Technology Cooperation Award of Guizhou Province. He has so far authored and co-authored approximately 180 conference and journal papers and his work has led to 7 patents.

Prof. Dr. Sher Bahadar Khan did his Ph.D from HEJ, Karachi University, Pakistan. After completion of Ph.D, He started his post-doctoral career in Nanochemistry and Nanotechnology and continued to work as a post-doctoral research fellow till February 2010 at Yonsei University, South Korea. In March 2010, He joined Center for Advanced Materials and Nano-engineering, Department of Chemistry, Najran University as an Assistant Professor and continued his work till 31 st August 2011. He joined the Chemistry Department, King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia as an Assistant Professor in September 2011. Currently he is full Professor in the Chemistry Department, King Abdulaziz University and is doing research in Nanochemistry and Nanotechnology which comprises catalysis, hydrogen production, drug delivery, solar cell, development of active photo-catalyst and fabrication of perceptive bio-sensor and chemi-sensor using metal oxide nanomaterials and their green environmental nanohybrids. He is the author of 300 research articles, twelve books, and six patents with more than 850 impact factor, 5650 citations and 41 h-index.

Weiwei Xue received his B.S. (2009) and Ph.D. (2014) degree in Department of Chemistry at Lanzhou University. He worked as a visiting scholar of the Department of Biochemistry at University of Washington School of Medicine (2018-2019). He is now an associate professor of the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Chongqing University. His research interests focus on employing principles of physics and chemistry with modern computational techniques to understand the molecular mechanism underlying chemical and biological processes (protein−ligand/protein interactions and protein folding), and to design novel therapeutic candidates. Dr. Xue has published more than 50 peer-reviewed research papers with over 1000 citations and h-index of 23.

He is currently working on neuromodulation/neurofeedback for treatment of neuropsychiatric disorders.
